Slayer Football Club was founded in 2017 by a group of investors led by businessman Suresh Kumar. The club's first season in the Indian Super League was in 2018-19. The club finished the season in 9th place out of 10 teams.
In the 2019-20 season, Slayer Football Club finished in 6th place out of 10 teams. The club qualified for the playoffs for the first time in their history. However, they were knocked out in the semifinals by Chennaiyin FC.
In the 2020-21 season, Slayer Football Club finished in 4th place out of 11 teams. The club qualified for the playoffs for the second time in their history. However, they were knocked out in the quarterfinals by Mumbai City FC.
