Shine FC is a football (soccer) team based in Kosofe, Lagos, Nigeria. The team was founded in 2005 and currently competes in the Nigeria National League, the third tier of Nigerian football.
History
Shine FC was founded in 2005 by a group of young footballers from Kosofe. The team quickly rose through the ranks of the Lagos State League and in 2015, they were promoted to the Nigeria National League. Shine FC has since become a regular in the NNL, finishing in the top half of the table in each of the last three seasons.
Recent season
Shine FC had a successful season in 2022/23, finishing in fourth place in the Nigeria National League. The team reached the semi-finals of the NNL playoffs, where they were beaten by eventual champions, Remo Stars.
Shine FC's top scorer for the season was David Okon, who scored 12 goals in 30 appearances. The team's most impressive player was goalkeeper, Lucky Eke, who kept 10 clean sheets in the league.
Future
Shine FC is looking to build on their recent success and achieve promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the next few years. The team has a strong youth academy and is investing in infrastructure, with the aim of becoming a leading club in Nigerian football.
