SARAYA-ALANDULUS Football Club is an Iraqi professional football club based in Baghdad. The club was founded in 2013 and currently competes in the Iraqi Premier League.
History
SARAYA-ALANDULUS was founded in 2013 by a group of Iraqi businessmen and football enthusiasts. The club's name is a combination of the words "saraya" (meaning "palace") and "al-andalus" (meaning "Andalusia"). This reflects the club's ambition to become a major force in Iraqi football and to represent the country on the international stage.
The club's first season in the Iraqi Premier League was in 2014-15. They finished the season in 10th place. In the following season, they finished in 6th place.
In the 2016-17 season, SARAYA-ALANDULUS won their first major trophy, the Iraqi FA Cup. They defeated Al-Shorta in the final.
The club has also competed in the AFC Cup on several occasions. Their best performance came in the 2018 season, when they reached the Round of 16.
