Ryhope United Football Club is an English association football club based in Ryhope, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. The club currently plays in the Northern League Division One.
History
The club was founded in 1892 by coal miners in Ryhope. The club's first league title came in 1927-28, and they went on to win the Wearside Football League on four more occasions in the 1960s.
In the 1967-68 season, Ryhope United reached the First Round Proper of the FA Cup for the only time in their history, losing 1-0 at home to Workington.
The club's next successful period came in the early 2010s, when they won all four competitions in the Wearside League in 2010-11 and 2011-12, including the Northern League Challenge Cup at St James' Park in Newcastle.
Ryhope United currently play their home games at Ryhope Recreation Ground.
