Royal Lines Football Academy is a football academy based in Sammanturai, Sri Lanka. It was founded in 2010 by former Sri Lankan international footballer, Mohamed Ishfaq. The academy offers training programs for players of all ages and abilities.
History
Royal Lines Football Academy was founded in 2010 by former Sri Lankan international footballer, Mohamed Ishfaq. Ishfaq was inspired to start the academy after seeing the lack of opportunities for young footballers in Sri Lanka. He wanted to create a place where young players could train and develop their skills in a professional environment.
The academy quickly gained popularity and now has over 100 players enrolled. The academy has produced a number of talented players, including Mohamed Ishfaq's son, Mohamed Aakib. Aakib is currently a member of the Sri Lanka national under-19 team.
Accomplishments
- Royal Lines Football Academy has won the Sri Lanka Schools Football Championship four times.
- The academy has also won the Sri Lanka Under-19 Football Championship twice.
- A number of academy players have been selected for the Sri Lanka national team.
