Ridgeway Rovers FC was founded in 1972 by a group of friends who lived in the Ridgeway Farm area of Covingham. The club started out playing in the Swindon and District Sunday League, and they won promotion to the Premier Division in their first season.
Ridgeway Rovers FC have won the Swindon Sunday League Premier Division on four occasions, in 1991, 1994, 2000, and 2017. They have also won the Swindon Sunday League Cup on three occasions, in 1991, 1994, and 2000.
