Reading Royals Futsal Club is a futsal club based in Reading, England. The club was founded in 2012 and currently competes in the National Futsal Series (NFS) league.
The club has two teams, one for men and one for women. The men's team has won the NFS championship twice, in 2015 and 2017. The women's team has never won the NFS championship, but they have finished as runners-up twice, in 2016 and 2018.
The club's home venue is the Thames Valley University Sports Centre in Reading. The club also runs a number of youth futsal teams.
National Futsal Series
The National Futsal Series is the top futsal league in England. The league was founded in 2012 and currently consists of 16 teams, divided into two divisions.
The NFS season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season qualify for the play-offs. The winners of the play-offs are crowned champions.
The NFS is a professional league and the teams are all full-time futsal players. The league is sponsored by the Football Association (FA) and the prize money for the champions is £10,000.
The NFS is a growing league and the standard of futsal is improving all the time. The league is now attracting some of the best futsal players in England and the competition is fierce.
