The team was founded in 2017 and is made up of players aged 7 and under. They train on a weekly basis at Carr Green Playing Fields in Rastrick.

The Rockets have competed in the HMJFL since the 2017-18 season. They have won the league title once, in the 2018-19 season. They have also reached the cup final on two occasions, in 2018 and 2020.

The team is managed by a team of volunteers. The current manager is Paul Smith.
