Raja Club Athletic (RCA), also known as Raja Casablanca, is a professional football club based in Casablanca, Morocco. Founded on 20 March 1949, the club competes in the Botola, the top flight of Moroccan football.
Raja is one of the most successful clubs in Morocco, having won the Botola 12 times, the Coupe du Trône 8 times, the CAF Champions League 3 times, the CAF Cup Winners' Cup once, and the CAF Confederation Cup twice.
History
Raja was founded in 1949 by a group of young men from the Derb Sultan district of Casablanca. The club's name is a reference to the Arabic word for "hope".
Raja quickly became one of the most popular clubs in Morocco, and in 1970 they won their first Botola title. They went on to win the Botola again in 1978, 1988, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, and 2013.
Raja also won the CAF Champions League in 1989, 1997, and 1999. They are one of only two clubs to have won the CAF Champions League three times.
