History
Newry Celtic was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The club initially played in the Mid-Ulster Football League, before moving to the Intermediate League in 1982. Newry Celtic has won the Intermediate League on four occasions, in 1991, 1999, 2004, and 2019.
The club has also competed in the Irish Cup on several occasions, reaching the semi-finals in 1992 and 2005.

Newry Celtic plays its home games at Planters Park, which is located in Newry. The ground has a capacity of 1,500 spectators.
