Athletic Club Port of Spain (previously known as North East Stars) is a Trinidad and Tobago professional football club, based in Port of Spain, Trinidad, that plays in the TT Pro League.
The club was founded in 1974 as North East Stars, and they have won the TT Pro League championship on three occasions, in 2006, 2012, and 2014. They have also won the Trinidad and Tobago FA Cup on four occasions, in 2006, 2008, 2012, and 2014.
The club's home ground is the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad. The stadium has a capacity of 18,000 spectators.
History
North East Stars was founded in 1974 by a group of businessmen from the North East district of Trinidad. The club's first season was in the 1974–75 Trinidad and Tobago National League. They finished the season in third place.
The club won their first TT Pro League championship in 2006. They finished the season as the regular season champions, and they defeated Defence Force in the playoff final.
North East Stars won their second TT Pro League championship in 2012. They finished the season as the regular season champions, and they defeated W Connection in the playoff final.
The club won their third TT Pro League championship in 2014. They finished the season as the regular season champions, and they defeated Central FC in the playoff final.
