Porthcawl Town Football Club is a Welsh football team based in Porthcawl, Bridgend. The club was founded in 1947 and currently plays in the Premier Division of the South Wales Alliance League.
History
Porthcawl Town AFC has come a long way in the last 30 years. In the early 1990s, the club became one of the most respected outfits in the South Wales Amateur League. Between 1990 and 1994, the club won almost every honour the league had to offer, including the South Wales Intermediate Cup.
In 1994, the club won promotion into the Welsh League after several near misses. Two promotions followed in quick succession, with the club achieving its highest ever league position of 10th in Welsh League One in 1997/98.
The club has since had a more mixed record, but has remained a competitive force in the South Wales Alliance League.
Stadium
Porthcawl Town AFC plays its home games at Locks Lane, Porthcawl. The stadium has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.
