PORLEAGUE FC is a Portuguese professional football club based in Porto. The club was founded in 1893 and currently competes in the Primeira Liga, the top tier of Portuguese football. PORLEAGUE FC has won the Primeira Liga 29 times, the Taça de Portugal 17 times, and the UEFA Champions League twice.

History

PORLEAGUE FC was founded on September 28, 1893, by António Nicolau de Almeida, a local wine merchant and keen sportsman. The club's first name was Foot-Ball Club do Porto, but it was changed to PORLEAGUE FC in 1906.

PORLEAGUE FC quickly became one of the top clubs in Portugal, winning its first Primeira Liga title in 1935. The club went on to win the Primeira Liga a further 28 times, most recently in 2022.

PORLEAGUE FC has also been successful in European competition, winning the UEFA Champions League twice, in 1987 and 2004. The club has also won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup once, in 1983, and the UEFA Europa League twice, in 2011 and 2018.
