Orsogna is a town in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is home to a football team, Orsogna Calcio, which was founded in 1946. The team currently plays in the Terza Categoria, which is the sixth tier of the Italian football league system.
History
Orsogna Calcio was founded in 1946 by a group of local footballers. The team's first season was in the Prima Categoria, which was the third tier of the Italian football league system at the time. Orsogna Calcio won promotion to the Seconda Categoria in 1947, and to the Prima Categoria again in 1949.
The team's best period came in the 1960s, when they won promotion to the Promozione in 1962. Orsogna Calcio played in the Promozione for five seasons, before being relegated back to the Prima Categoria in 1967.
The team has since yo-yoed between the Prima Categoria and the Seconda Categoria. They are currently in the Terza Categoria, where they have been playing since 2017.
