The New Derby FC, set up by regulars of Roker's finest pub, The New Derby, debuted in the Sunderland Sunday League during the 2010/2011 season. The side finished their opening campaingn fourth in Division Three narrowly missing out on promotion but enjoyed a thrilling cup run reaching the semi finals of the Presidents Cup before being edged out by Divison Two champions and eventual winners of the competition, Southwick FC.
