More about the team
Welcome to the Netherley Bridge Inn Football Club
We our a Veterans Over 35's Football Team who play in the Liverpool I Zingari Combination Veterans Division 1
We where formed in 2011 by Co founder Gary Bullock.
Players have been mostly from the L27 & L25 areas But we have had big help in our push for promotion in our 1st season in Division 2 2011/12 from Tony Draper, Derek Highdale, Kevin Kirkpatrick all from South Liverpool areas who formed with the Allerton Vets in 2012/13 & are currently running away with the Division 2, We will always be truly grateful for their service.
We where helped with Funding by Riverside Lee Valley Housing Miss Pat Wheatley & Miss Jackie Lowther in 2011/12 & 2012/13.
We have a had kind Gestures from our friends Lucas Sports F.C. Club Secretary Stewart Mitchell & Canon F.C. Club Secretary Paul Pohill & Paul Bennett which have helped our cause!.
We have virtually had to start building the team again! Starting with a New Manager ex player John Pines after the departure of the Manager Danny Nester who we wish well in his new role as Chairman of Lucas Sports & 10 players leaving & retiring! We lost Gaffa, Savo, Benno, McGinty, Tony Draper, Kirky, Degsy, Philly, Robbie Jnr, Dave McKie all who played a major part in the promotion winning team of 2011/12! We are looking to hopefully stay in the Vets elite & hold our own? We have recently salvaged experienced players Benno & Ginty back to help our cause who are no strangers to this division having played for years with Collegiate OB & Hillfoot OB, We have lost players this season also! & players who have signed but not bothered? We are finding a balance after a shaky start! But finding this season in the top division a hole new ball game & a challenge as every game is tough!.
