Medway Lions, managed by Neil Drysdale formed in 2011 after the break up of Black Lion. 2010-2011 as Black Lion was a good first season in the MMSFL Division 5 let down by some members of the squad, which cost league honours. Promoted in 3rd place, League cup semi-finalists. Player of the year Jason Nicholson.
2011-12 in the running for league hours when again let down by some squad players having to concede the final 2 matches of the season. Hard on the really good members who had done so well. Still promoted to division 3 after 6th place finish. Player of the year Scott McKay.
In 2012 a special group of players met and agreed to rebuild the side based upon an ethos of team spirit and building a social group of friends not just a football team.Medway Lions reborn.
2012 - 2013 was an exceptional season winning the knockout shield, achieving promotion as division 3 runners up losing only one league match and reaching the Kent Cup quarter finals.

The social side got moving as Rochester and Malia have been ruined by the Lions.
2013-2014 Lions had another great season. Runners up in division 2 and League Cup final R/up.

Medway Lions are a Sunday League football team based in Gillingham, Kent, England. They currently play in the Mmsfl, which is a local amateur league.
History
The team was formed in 2011 after the break up of Black Lion. They initially played in Division 5 of the Mmsfl, and were promoted in their first season after finishing in third place.
In 2012-13, the team won the Knockout Shield and were promoted to Division 3 as runners-up. They also reached the quarter-finals of the Kent Cup.
The team have continued to be successful in recent years, finishing runners-up in Division 2 in 2013-14 and reaching the final of the League Cup.
Current Season
Medway Lions are currently in their ninth season in the Mmsfl. They are currently playing in Division 1, and are currently in 10th place.

The Mmsfl is a local amateur football league based in Medway, Kent. It was founded in 1978 and currently has over 100 teams playing in various divisions.
The league is divided into two divisions, Premier Division and Division 1. The top four teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to the Kent County League, while the bottom four teams are relegated to Division 1.
The Mmsfl is a competitive league with a good standard of football. It is a great place for players of all abilities to develop their skills and enjoy the game of football.
