Llanharan FC was founded in 1964. They have played in a variety of leagues over the years, including the South Wales League, the Mid Glamorgan League, and the Welsh League.
The club's most successful period came in the 1980s, when they won the South Wales League twice and the Mid Glamorgan League once.
Llanharan FC have also reached the final of the FAW Trophy on two occasions, in 1988 and 1990.
