Leftist SC was founded in 1998 by a group of leftist activists. The club's original name was "Persatuan Bola Sepak Rakyat" (People's Football Association), but it was renamed "Leftist SC" in 2005.
Leftist SC has never won a major trophy, but the club has been a regular in the Malaysia M3 League since its inception in 2016.
