La-Masia was founded in 1975 by a group of football enthusiasts in Dar-es-Salaam. The club was named after the famous La Masia academy of FC Barcelona, which is known for producing some of the best players in the world. La-Masia quickly established itself as one of the top clubs in Tanzania, winning the Tanzanian Premier League in 1999. The club has also won the Tanzanian Cup on three occasions.
Recent seasons
La-Masia has struggled in recent seasons, finishing outside of the top four in the Tanzanian Premier League in each of the last three seasons. However, the club has a new manager in charge for the 2023-24 season, and they will be hoping to challenge for the title again.
