Kochin Tuskers
Kochin Tuskers is a defunct Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team based in Kochi, Kerala. The team was founded in 2010 and played in the IPL for two seasons, 2011 and 2012.
History
Kochin Tuskers was one of the eight new teams that were added to the IPL in 2010. The team was owned by Kochi Cricket Pvt Ltd, a consortium led by industrialists N.R. Narayana Murthy and Sunil Mittal.
The team's first match was against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 8, 2011. Kochin Tuskers won the match by 10 wickets.
The team's best performance came in the 2011 season, when they finished fourth in the league table. They also reached the semi-finals of the tournament, but lost to the Chennai Super Kings.
Kochin Tuskers was unable to replicate their success in the 2012 season and finished seventh in the league table. The team was subsequently disbanded after the 2012 season.
