The club was founded in 1972 by a group of local residents. The club's first team initially competed in the Chelmsford & District League, before moving to the Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League in 1980. The club has won the Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League title on four occasions, most recently in 2019.
The club also has a Sunday League team, which currently competes in the Essex Sunday Football League. The Sunday League team has won the Essex Sunday Football League title once, in 2017.
