Gombe United Football Club

Gombe United Football Club is a Nigerian football club based in Gombe. They play in the Nigeria Professional Football League. Their home stadium is the new Pantami Stadium, having moved from Abubakar Umar Memorial Stadium in 2010.

History

Gombe United was founded in 1990. They were promoted to the Nigerian Premier League in 1994, and have been playing in the top flight ever since. They are one of the most successful clubs in the north of Nigeria, and have won the Nigeria Premier League title once, in 2004.

Gombe United have also won the Nigeria FA Cup twice, in 2000 and 2004. They have been runners-up in the Nigeria Premier League three times, in 2003, 2005, and 2013.

Recent seasons

Gombe United finished 12th in the Nigeria Premier League in the 2021/22 season. They were relegated to the Nigeria National League in 2022/23.
