Godalming Town Football Club

Godalming Town Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in Godalming, Surrey, England. They are currently members of the Southern Combination Division One and play at the Bill Kyte Stadium.

History

The club was founded in 1950 as Godalming United FC by ex-pupils of Godalming Grammar School. They played at the Recreation Ground until 1971, when they moved to Wey Court, the former ground of Surrey Senior League side Farncombe. In 1975, the club changed its name to Godalming Town FC.

The club enjoyed a period of success in the 1980s, winning the Surrey Senior Cup in 1983 and 1985. They also won the Isthmian League Division Two in 1988, earning promotion to Division One.

Godalming Town spent the next 10 years in Division One, before being relegated to Division Two in 1998. They bounced back to Division One in 2000, but were relegated again in 2003.

The club spent the next 10 years in Division Two, before being relegated to the Combined Counties League Premier Division in 2013. They were promoted back to Division Two in 2015, and then to Division One in 2017.
