History
GÜCÜNEGÜÇKAT FK was founded in 1972 by a group of friends from the Güçlü neighborhood of Kocaeli. The club's name is a combination of the words "güçlü" (strong) and "katik" (yoghurt), which are two local terms.
The club spent its early years in the amateur leagues of Kocaeli. In 2007, the club won promotion to the TFF 3. Lig for the first time. The club has since spent most of its time in the TFF 3. Lig, with a brief spell in the TFF 2. Lig in 2015-16.
Stadium
GÜCÜNEGÜÇKAT FK plays its home matches at the Güçlü Katik Arena. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 spectators.
