Garden Village AFC
Garden Village AFC is a football club based in Garden Village, Swansea, Wales. They currently play in the Welsh Football League Division 1, which is the fourth tier of the Welsh football pyramid.
History
The club was founded in 1922 and started playing football at Swansea League level before joining the Carmarthenshire League midway through the 20th century. After numerous league and cup successes over the years, Village gained promotion into the Welsh Football League at the end of the 1998–99 season after finishing second in the Premier Division of the Carmarthenshire League, and defeating Neath League team Cwmamman United in the Welsh League promotion play-off.
In their first season of Welsh League football, the club secured promotion by finishing third in Welsh League Division Three. They have since played in Division Two and Division One, and have reached the final of the Welsh Cup on two occasions, in 2005 and 2012.
The club's home ground is Stafford Common, which has a capacity of 2,000. Their current manager is David Rimmer, who was appointed in 2022.
