Gallos Blancos de Querétaro was founded on July 8, 1950, by a group of businessmen led by Rafael Olvera. The club's first home stadium was the Estadio Municipal de Querétaro.
Gallos Blancos de Querétaro spent most of their early years in the lower divisions of Mexican football. However, the club won promotion to the Primera División in 1970.
Gallos Blancos de Querétaro has never won the Liga MX title. However, the club has won the Copa MX twice, in 1970 and 2016.
