Fylde Hockey Club is a football club based in Fylde, Lancashire, England. The club was established in 2016 and was previously known as Springfields Hockey Club.
History
- The club started life in the early 1960s as the British Nuclear Fuels Limited, Springfields site, men's team.
- The ladies section was formed from the N.A.L.G.O. women's team who were mainly employed at County Hall in Preston.
- In 1990 Springfields Hockey Club was one of the forerunners in the area to move away from playing on grass pitches.
- Home fixtures were played over 15 miles away at Stanley Park, Blackpool and then the club moved back to Preston when the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) opened the Sports Arena complex at Cottam in 2000.
- In 2016, with the promise of an Olympic-standard pitch, 200-seat spectator stand and clubhouse facilities, the club was renamed.
The club is now linked to AFC Fylde and the Mill Farm Sports Village developments. Club colours and playing kit were also updated and the club moved to Mill Farm for the 2017/18 season.
