Finchys Football Club is a Sunday league football team based in Leicester, England. The club was founded in 1972 and currently competes in the Leicester & Charnwood Sunday Football League.
History
Finchys Football Club was founded in 1972 by a group of friends who met at the Finchys pub in Leicester. The club initially competed in the Leicestershire Sunday League, but moved to the Leicester & Charnwood Sunday Football League in 1995.
Finchys have won the Leicester & Charnwood Sunday Football League title on four occasions, in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2018. They have also won the Leicestershire Sunday Cup on three occasions, in 1999, 2000, and 2018.
Current Season
Finchys are currently competing in Division One of the Leicester & Charnwood Sunday Football League. They are currently in third place, with two games in hand on the leaders.
The club's top scorer this season is Jack Smith, with 10 goals. Other key players include goalkeeper Chris Hall, defender James Taylor, and midfielder Tom Finch.
