History
Feyenoord was founded on 19 July 1908 by a group of young men from the Feijenoord district of Rotterdam. The club's original name was Wilhelmina, but it was changed to SC Feijenoord in 1912.
Feyenoord won its first Dutch football championship in 1924. The club won its second championship in 1928, and its third championship in 1936.
Feyenoord won its first European trophy in 1970, when it defeated Celtic in the European Cup final. The club won its second European trophy in 1974, when it defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Cup final.
Feyenoord has been less successful in recent years. The club has not won a Dutch football championship since 1999.
