FCSB, also known as Steaua Bucure?ti, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest. The club was founded in 1947 and has played its home matches at the National Arena since 2011. FCSB is the most successful club in Romanian football, having won 26 league titles, 26 cups, and 30 Supercups.
History
- The club was founded in 1947 as the sports association of the Romanian Army.
- It won its first league title in 1951 and went on to win 25 more, including 10 in a row between 1961 and 1971.
- The club also won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1986.
- In 1998, the club was privatized and renamed FCSB.
