FC Hyde is a football club based in Hyde, Greater Manchester, England. They currently play in the Tameside Football League JFC Sports Division 3.
History
FC Hyde was founded in 1919. They originally played in the Lancashire and Cheshire Federation, before joining the Manchester League in 1920. They won the Manchester League five times between 1923 and 1930, and also won the Gilgryst Cup twice in that period.
In 1930, FC Hyde moved to the Cheshire County League, where they won the League Challenge Cup in 1934. After the Second World War, the club enjoyed a period of success, winning the Cheshire Senior Cup in 1946, and the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy in 1949.
In 1978, FC Hyde joined the Northern Premier League, where they played for 12 seasons. They reached the FA Trophy semi-finals in 1983, and the FA Cup first round in 1984.
In 1990, FC Hyde were relegated from the Northern Premier League, and have since played in a variety of lower leagues. They are currently members of the Tameside Football League JFC Sports Division 3.
