Formed in 1986 as Royal Scot Star, the team changed its name in 1996 and moved its home to Cavalry Park in Duddingston.
The club's philosophy at its formation was to play football the proper way and to breed a fantastic friendly atmosphere through the whole squad. We are proud to say that over 25 years later this is still the same philosophy and many of our players have stayed with the club for more than 10 years.

Recent seasons
Duddingston Athletic AFC finished 7th in the LEAFA Premier Division in 2021-22. They have also competed in a number of cup competitions, including the Scottish Amateur Cup and the East of Scotland Amateur Cup.

About the Leafa football league
The Lothian and Edinburgh Amateur Football Association (LEAFA) is a football league for amateur teams in Edinburgh and the surrounding area. It was founded in 1972 and currently has over 200 teams competing in a variety of divisions.
The LEAFA Premier Division is the top division in the league. It is a 16-team league and the champions are promoted to the East of Scotland Football League. The bottom two teams are relegated to the LEAFA First Division.
The LEAFA also organizes a number of cup competitions, including the Scottish Amateur Cup, the East of Scotland Amateur Cup, and the LEAFA Cup.
