DOXA NEOY SKOPOY is a Greek football (soccer) team based in the village of Neos Skopos, in the Pieria region of Greece. The team was founded in 1972 and currently competes in the Gamma Ethniki, the third tier of Greek football.
DOXA NEOY SKOPOY has never played in the top flight of Greek football, the Super League. However, the team has won the Gamma Ethniki on three occasions, in 1988-89, 1994-95, and 2018-19.
The team's home ground is the Neos Skopos Municipal Stadium, which has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.
History
DOXA NEOY SKOPOY was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The team's first president was Giorgos Kapetanios.
DOXA NEOY SKOPOY began competing in the local amateur leagues in the early 1970s. The team quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to the Gamma Ethniki in 1988-89.
DOXA NEOY SKOPOY won the Gamma Ethniki in 1988-89 and was promoted to the Beta Ethniki, the second tier of Greek football. The team spent two seasons in the Beta Ethniki before being relegated back to the Gamma Ethniki in 1991-92.
DOXA NEOY SKOPOY won the Gamma Ethniki again in 1994-95 and was promoted back to the Beta Ethniki. The team spent four seasons in the Beta Ethniki before being relegated back to the Gamma Ethniki in 1999-00.
DOXA NEOY SKOPOY won the Gamma Ethniki for the third time in 2018-19 and was promoted to the Beta Ethniki. The team currently competes in the Beta Ethniki.
