Dorados Football Club is a Mexican football club based in Tijuana. The club was founded in 1991 and currently plays in the Liga de Salesianos, the third tier of Mexican football.
History
Dorados Football Club was founded in 1991 by a group of businessmen and football enthusiasts. The club's first season was in the Tercera División de México, the fourth tier of Mexican football at the time. Dorados won the championship in their first season and were promoted to the Segunda División de México.
Dorados spent the next few seasons in the Segunda División, before being promoted to the Liga de Ascenso in 2004. The club spent two seasons in the Liga de Ascenso, before being relegated back to the Segunda División in 2006.
Dorados returned to the Liga de Ascenso in 2010 and spent the next eight seasons in the league. The club reached the final of the Liga de Ascenso in 2016, but lost to Chiapas.
Dorados were relegated back to the Segunda División in 2018. The club currently plays in the Liga de Salesianos.
Stadium
Dorados Football Club plays its home games at the Estadio Caliente. The stadium is located in Tijuana and has a capacity of 22,000.
Recent Season
Dorados finished the 2022-23 season in third place in the Liga de Salesianos. The club reached the semi-finals of the playoffs, but lost to Tecos.
