PSV Eindhoven (also known as PSV) is a professional football club from Eindhoven, Netherlands. It is one of the most successful clubs in Dutch football, having won the Eredivisie 24 times, the KNVB Cup 11 times, and the Johan Cruyff Shield a record 14 times. The club also won the European Cup in 1988.
PSV was founded in 1913 as a team for Philips employees. The club's name is an abbreviation of Philips Sport Vereniging, which means "Philips Sports Association" in Dutch. The club's home ground is the Philips Stadion, which has a capacity of 35,000.
History
PSV's history can be divided into two golden eras. The first golden era was in the 1970s, when the club won the Eredivisie four times and the KNVB Cup twice. The second golden era was in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when the club won the Eredivisie five times, the KNVB Cup three times, and the European Cup in 1988.

PSV has not won the Eredivisie since 2018. However, the club has been a regular contender for the title in recent years. In the 2021-22 season, PSV finished second in the Eredivisie, behind Ajax.
PSV also reached the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2021-22 season. However, the club lost to Feyenoord in the final.
