COL is a Colombian professional football club based in Medellín. The club was founded in 1947 and has won a record 16 Colombian league titles. COL is also the most successful club in the Copa Colombia, with 6 titles.

History

COL was founded in 1947 by Luis Alberto Villegas López, a former president of the football league of Antioquia. COL went on to win the league title again in 1968, 1973, 1976, 1981, 1991, 1994, 1999, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2016, and 2018.

COL has also been successful in the Copa Colombia, winning the tournament in 1981, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2018. The club's most recent major success came in 2021, when they won the Copa Libertadores, the most prestigious club competition in South America.
