History
CELTIC FS VILA ALPINA was founded in 1972 by a group of friends who lived in the Vila Alpina neighborhood of São Paulo. The team's first president was José Carlos de Oliveira.
The team's early years were spent playing in the lower divisions of the São Paulo state football league. In 1989, the team won promotion to the Campeonato Paulista Série A2, the second division of the state league.
The team spent the next few years alternating between the Série A2 and Série B. In 2005, the team won promotion to the Série A1, the top division of the state league.
The team's stay in the Série A1 was short-lived. They were relegated back to the Série A2 at the end of the 2005 season.
The team has been playing in the Série B ever since. In 2022, the team finished in third place in the Série B, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Série A1.
