Centro Desportivo e Social dos Jesuítas (CDSJ), also known as Coimbra Jesuits, is a Portuguese football club based in Coimbra. The club was founded in 1936 and currently competes in the Campeonato de Portugal, the third tier of Portuguese football.
History
CDSJ was founded in 1936 by a group of students from the University of Coimbra. The club's first team played in the regional leagues until 1970, when they were promoted to the Portuguese Second Division. CDSJ spent the next 20 years in the Second Division, with their best finish being a third-place finish in 1980.
In 1990, CDSJ was relegated to the Third Division. The club spent the next two decades in the Third Division, with their best finish being a second-place finish in 2005.
In 2012, CDSJ was promoted to the Second Division for the first time in 32 years. The club finished the season in 12th place, narrowly avoiding relegation.
In 2022, CDSJ was promoted to the Campeonato de Portugal for the first time. The club finished the season in 11th place.
Stadion
CDSJ plays its home matches at the Estádio Municipal de Coimbra, which has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. The stadium was built in 1965 and is also used by the University of Coimbra football team.
