Castleabbey FC is a young downpatrick team managed and founded by William Palin (chairman ) and run by committee members Campbell laverty ( secatary ), Alan Adair ( treasurer ), and coaches Colm Smyth and Ciaran Deegan ( also team photographer ).
Castleabbey FC started in the 2011-2012 season in the Newcastle and District Football League Divison Three in september 2011. Castleabbey FC are now preparing for the third season in the Newcastle and District Footbal League Division 1 and 3 after placing 3rd in their first and second season's.Castleabbey FC will start season 2013-2014 with two teams, 1st's in division 1 and 2nd's in division 3, up the abbey !!!!!

History
Castleabbey FC was founded in 2011. They started playing in the Newcastle and District Football League Division 3 in the 2011-12 season. They finished third in their first two seasons, and in 2013-14 they moved up to the Division 1.
In 2017, Castleabbey FC joined the Nadafl. They have been playing in the Division 3 ever since.
