History
Bumfica FC was founded in 1920 by a group of friends who met at the Bumfica Inn in Leeds. The club initially played in local amateur leagues before joining the West Riding County League in 1925. In 1979, Bumfica FC joined the Northern Premier League and has remained in the league ever since.
The club's greatest success came in 1989 when they won the Northern Premier League First Division. Bumfica FC also reached the FA Trophy final in 1990, but lost to Altrincham.
