Boroughmuir Thistle Football Club is a Scottish women's association football club founded in 2007. It is the largest girls and women's football club in Scotland and a club at the heart of community in the South East of Edinburgh.
The club has a long term partnership with Edinburgh University and Edinburgh University Women's football club. The club are based at various locations around Edinburgh including youth teams at Meggetland Sports Complex, Peffermill Sports Grounds, Meadowbank Stadium all facilities are in Edinburgh.
History
Boroughmuir Thistle Football Club was founded in 2007 by a group of women who wanted to create a club that would provide opportunities for girls and women of all ages to play football. The club has grown rapidly since then and now has over 300 members.
The club's first team competes in the Scottish Women's Premier League 2, the second tier of women's football in Scotland. The club has also had success at youth level, winning numerous trophies in recent years.
