The BoltonCountyDynamos were founded in 1992 by a group of local football enthusiasts. They started out in the Bolton & District League, and gradually worked their way up through the leagues.
In 2009, the BoltonCountyDynamos were promoted to the Northern Premier League Division One North. They have remained in this league ever since.
The BoltonCountyDynamos have never won a major trophy. However, they have reached the final of the FA Vase on two occasions, in 2012 and 2014.
