Boldklubben Union
Boldklubben Union (commonly known as BK Union or Union) is an association football club based in Copenhagen, Denmark, that competes in the Denmark Series, the fourth tier of the Danish football league system.
History
The club was founded on 2 July 1900 as "Nordvestkvarterets Kristelige Ungdomsforenings Boldklub" (NKUB), and has since had a strong affiliation to the Nordvest neighbourhood of Copenhagen. The club's first chairman was Oscar Bremer. In 1906, the club joined DBU Copenhagen, then named KBU. Four years later, it assumed the status of joint club for the entirety of Nørrebro's YMCA (KFUM) and thus adopted the name "Union". In 1911, the club moved into the clubhouse of Københavns Idrætspark, constructed by the City of Copenhagen.
Union enjoyed its most successful period in the 1920s and 1930s, when it won the Danish championship three times (1928, 1931, and 1934). The club also reached the final of the Danish Cup in 1930 and 1931, but lost both times to Kjøbenhavns Boldklub.
Union has since struggled to maintain its former success, and has spent most of its recent history in the lower divisions of Danish football. However, the club has been on an upswing in recent years, and currently competes in the Denmark Series.
Stadium
Union's home ground is Genforeningspladsen, which is located in the Nordvest neighbourhood of Copenhagen. The stadium has a capacity of 2,000 spectators.
