History
Blackrod Town FC was founded in 1900 and originally played in the Bolton and District League. The club joined the Lancashire Combination in 1921 and remained in the league until 1978. In 1979, Blackrod Town FC joined the North West Counties League.
The club's most successful period came in the 1980s, when they won the North West Counties League Premier Division in 1984 and 1986. Blackrod Town FC also reached the FA Vase semi-finals in 1985.
The club has struggled in recent years and has been relegated from the North West Counties League Premier Division on several occasions. However, Blackrod Town FC are currently in the North West Counties League Division One and are looking to rebuild.
