Bedlay CFC is a community football club based in Chryston, Scotland. The club was founded in 1972 and currently has one team, the Bedlay Boys 2011s, which plays in the East Dunbartonshire Youth Football League.
History
Bedlay CFC was founded in 1972 by a group of local residents who wanted to provide a footballing opportunity for children in the area. The club started with just one team, but has grown over the years to include teams at various age groups.
The club's most successful period was in the early 2000s, when the Bedlay Boys 1996s won the East Dunbartonshire Youth Football League title. The club has also produced a number of players who have gone on to play professional football, including Scott Allan and David Gray.
Current Team
The Bedlay Boys 2011s are the club's only team at present. The team is made up of 20 boys who are all born in 2011. The team plays in the East Dunbartonshire Youth Football League and is currently competing in the Under-12s Division 1.
The team is managed by Steven Shanks and assisted by Alan Strain. The team's home ground is the Bedlay Sports Centre.
