FC Basel 1893, also known as FC Basel, FCB, or just Basel, is a Swiss professional football club based in Basel, in the Canton of Basel-Stadt.
The club was founded in 1893 and has won the Swiss Super League a record 20 times, as well as the Swiss Cup 19 times. Basel have also played in the UEFA Champions League on numerous occasions, reaching the semi-finals in 1974.

History
FC Basel was founded in 1893 by a group of students and athletes. The club's first official match was played in 1894, against FC Concordia Basel. Basel won the match 2-1.
Basel won their first Swiss Super League title in 1903. They have since won the title a further 19 times, most recently in 2022.
Basel have also won the Swiss Cup a record 19 times. They most recently won the cup in 2022.
Basel have played in the UEFA Champions League on numerous occasions. They reached the semi-finals in 1974, but have never won the competition.
