History
Barry Athletic was founded in 1902 as Barry Town United. The club joined the Southern League in 1921 and remained in the league until 1979, when it was relegated to the Mid-Glamorgan League. The club returned to the Southern League in 1982 and remained in the league until 2002, when it was relegated to the Welsh League Division One. Barry Athletic won the Welsh League Division One in 2006 and was promoted to the Welsh Premier League. The club played in the Welsh Premier League for five seasons, before being relegated to the Welsh League Division One in 2011. Barry Athletic won the Welsh League Division One again in 2014 and was promoted to the Welsh Premier League. The club played in the Welsh Premier League for two seasons, before being relegated to the South Wales Alliance League in 2016.
