Banbury Bulldogs Football Club is a football club based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England. They are currently members of the National League North and play at the Spencer Stadium.
History
The club was founded in 1882 as Banbury Town. They changed their name to Banbury United in 1920. The club played in the Southern League until 1977, when they were elected to the Football League. They spent two seasons in the Fourth Division before being relegated back to the Southern League.
The club won promotion back to the Football League in 1986. They have since spent most of their time in the lower divisions of the Football League. They reached the FA Trophy final in 2002, but lost to Dagenham & Redbridge.
Stadium
Banbury United play their home games at the Spencer Stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000.
The stadium was built in 1977 and is named after the Spencer family, who were major benefactors of the club.
