Balu Football Club is a football club based in Hyderabad, India. The club was founded in 1950 and is named after the founder, Balu Reddy.
Balu FC plays in the Hyderabad Football League, which is the top division of football in Hyderabad. The club has won the league title 10 times, most recently in 2022.
Balu FC has also competed in the I-League, which is the top division of football in India. The club has played in the I-League on three occasions, most recently in 2018.
History
Balu FC was founded in 1950 by Balu Reddy. The club started out playing in the local leagues in Hyderabad. In the early 1970s, Balu FC began to compete in the national leagues.
The club won its first major title in 1975, when it won the Nizam Gold Cup. Balu FC went on to win the Hyderabad Football League title for the first time in 1978.
In the 1990s, Balu FC began to decline. The club was relegated from the I-League in 1998. However, the club bounced back and won the Hyderabad Football League title again in 2000.
In recent years, Balu FC has regained its former glory. The club won the Hyderabad Football League title in 2018 and 2022. Balu FC is also currently competing in the I-League 2nd Division.
